The Eyde Company would welcome a joint venture / land contribution on this wonderful senior housing opportunity. The East Lansing area has seen large gains in the senior and baby boomer population and a moderate decrease in the size of the younger age category.

As part of the Housing Needs Assessment, a series of focus groups were conducted among older residents to solicit feedback regarding their specific housing situation. Focus groups of East Lansing area residents over the age of 55 were conducted in August 2003. As part of the study, these focus groups were asked what the need for various housing types in the East Lansing area. Nearly 56 percent seen a need for some sort of senior housing including assisted living, low-income rentals, and for-sale condominiums. My Universities all around the country are finding that retirees are returning the their Alumni not just to visit, but to reside in the place they where once enrolled.

Universities have become involved in the development of senior housing programs for sometime. Once the project is complete universities will generally integrate senior residents into the campus environment. Including to allow the use of the universities facilities, participate in volunteer or geriatric programs, even allowing them to take classes at the university.
